Mahatma Gandhi University, Nalgonda is a State University established to serve the needs of Nalgonda district people in accordance with the aim of expanding the higher educational opportunities in rural areas. Mahatma Gandhi University was established in 2007 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh (GOAP) through GOMs no 19 of the Education Department dated 13th March 2007. It is in the process of acquiring a land area of 250 acres for the construction of University building campuses. The jurisdiction of the Mahatma Gandhi University is over the entire Nalgonda District. All the colleges offering Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Professional courses which were established in the district are affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU). Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) offers M.Com, M.A. in two branchs, MSW and M.Sc in six branchs at the Postgraduate level. For M.Com, M.A., MSW and M.Sc courses, students must hold a Bachelor’s degree in relevant branch from a recognized university. Admission will be granted based on Student’s score in PGECET 2019 or KUCET 2019.
Mahatma Gandhi University, Nalgonda offers Ph.D program in seven branchs at the Research level. Students must hold a Master’s degree in the concerned subjects from a recognized university to pursue Ph.D course from the university. Admission will be granted based on the Interview conducted by the Mahatma Gandhi University.
