About NTR University of Health Sciences:

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has the distinction of establishing the first University of Health Sciences fulfilling the recommendations of several committees. Thus the “Andhra Pradesh University of Health Sciences” was established by the Act.No. 6 of the Andhra Pradesh legislature and was inaugurated on 9-4-1986 by the late Sri N.T. Rama Rao, the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. The University of Health Sciences started functioning at Vijayawada from 01-11-1986. After the death of its founder Sri N.T. Rama Rao the University was named after him as NTR University of Health Sciences, Andhra Pradesh with effect from 2.2.98 vide Act No.4 of 1998.

NTR University of Health Sciences Admission 2019

Selection to MBBS and BDS programs is done on the basis of candidates performance in NEET followed by counseling. For MBBS programmes, candidates have to complete the mandatory internship on prior registration with AP State Medical Council. For Nursing and Paramedical courses, colleges are assigned to the candidates on the basis of merit list. The merit lists are published on the university website as well as on university notice board, however, the university does not send the individual notification to any student. For courses such as BAMS, BHMS, the university enrolls candidates on the basis of their performance in the AP EAMCET, however, there is a separate entrance examination for the BUMS programme.

The university offers doctoral programmes in both full-time and part-time mode. For the part-time Ph.D. course, candidates must have a working experience for a year in any of the colleges or institutes affiliated to NTR University. The application forms are available both online and offline.
