The five departments (engineering) have been provided with roofs (RCC). This Technical University is spreading its wings. During its inception in 1946, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) was originally named as ‘The College of Engineering, Vizagpatnam’. 

It is sprawling campus of 110 acres, located at the port city of Kakinada

Earlier, it was affiliated to Andhra University, but it became autonomous from 2003

'A' Grade has been accredited by the National Board of Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of University Grants Commission (UGC) to the University.

The Research and Development activity in the College got a boost with the procurement of modern and sophisticated equipment under MHRD and AICTE schemes.
